Akhirah Abdul-Rasheed is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Arts in Public Health. After her degree completion, she aspires to enter the field of maternal health and contribute to the creation of policies that ensure equitable, safe, and unprejudiced prenatal care for all pregnant individuals, especially minority and socially disadvantaged pregnant individuals. Below are some of her academic artifacts that represent her work in the field of Public Health.

Epidemiology:

This project was conducted by Akhirah and some fellow classmates to examine potential causes and trace potential origins of a disease that had spread amongst school-aged children.

Maternal Health:

These field notes of a birth narrative interview were taken by Akhirah as she conducted the interview. It that captures the birthing experience of her grandmother, an African American woman.

Research:

This is an overview of some important demographic indicators prevalent in Egypt that affects the condition of its society socially, financially, and health wise.
